The Salam After Prostration of Recitation
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The thirteenth question from Fatwa number ( 18762 )
Q 13: If a person is reciting and comes upon a prostration verse, and he prostrates and then stands up from the prostration and says the salam, some people say, "Do not say the salam; if you prostrated, take your mushaf and read." Which is better, to say the salam or not to say it?
A 13: We are not aware of any evidence regarding the prescription of the salam after the prostration of recitation. Rather, some scholars held this view based on their independent legal reasoning. Therefore, one should not criticize
the one who says the salam, but leaving off the salam is better due to the lack of evidence for it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
