Prostration of Recitation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: We find in the Noble Mushaf the phrase "prostration according to other than Malik" . Does this wording exempt the reciter or the listener from prostrating if he follows a different school of jurisprudence? And if a person does not adhere to a specific school of jurisprudence, what is his position regarding this?

Answer: Prostration of Recitation is a recommended practice (sunnah) for both the reciter and the listener, without regard to whether it is according to Malik or according to others.
Prostration of Recitation is a recommended practice (sunnah) for the Muslim when he recites a verse of prostration, or when he is listening to a reciter and passes a verse of prostration and the reciter prostrates, in which case he prostrates with him, without regard to any of the schools of jurisprudence. As for what is written in the Mushaf, such as "according to other than Malik" or "according to Malik" and the like, this has no connection to the lawfulness of the act. May the Mushaf be free
from such writings, and be pure for the mere writing of the words of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), without writing any other words.
