Q: What is the ruling on using the miswak after the iqamah for prayer and during the prayer?
A : It is a recommended practice (sunnah) to use the miswak when intending to pray, before entering the state of consecration (ihram) for the prayer; for what was narrated by the group from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:Sunan Abi Dawud 47Sahih (Al-Albani) . As for using the miswak after entering the state of consecration for the prayer, it is not prescribed. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
