The second question of Fatwa No. ( 13961 )
Q 2: Some people believe that it is not permissible for the imam to recite Surat al-Masad in their prayer because they consider it a curse upon him, his family, and the ma'mums
all of them? And some even believe that the reciter's house will be burned that night. Please inform us, may Allah reward you?
A 2: The belief that reciting Surat al-Masad is a curse upon the imam and the ma'mums, or that the reciter's house will be burned, is incorrect. In fact, that is a false belief. Surat al-Masad, like other chapters of the Qur'an, is recited in prayers and elsewhere. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
