The first question of Fatwa number ( 18638 )
Q 1: During the loud prayer, verses mentioning Paradise or the Fire may pass by. Is it permissible for the follower to make supplication or seek refuge if his imam does not do so? And is it permissible for him to send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) if the imam passes by verses mentioning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?
A 1: The most cautious course for the believer is not to do so except in voluntary prayer; because it has not been preserved from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he did so except in the late-night prayer. And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said:[Al-Ahzab 33:21] The verse. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih al-Bukhari 6008 . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
