Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I work in the field of accounting and monitoring employee attendance and work, and I explain the progress of work to the owner of the establishment, and among that, for example: I tell him that so-and-so was absent, or was late, or that he made a mistake in such-and-such, and did such-and-such, and that is to clarify the existing defect to the owner of the establishment so that he can fix it. Am I sinful for that, even though I advised the employees before I spoke to the owner of the establishment, but they did not benefit from it? Please inform us, may you be rewarded.

The Shaykh : I say that this questioner’s work is good, and he is to be thanked for it, and rewarded for it, and this is the requirement of trustworthiness, that he does not favor anyone.
And the man, may Allah reward him with good, advises the workers first; if they reform, he leaves them alone, and if they do not reform, he reports them, and this is obligatory upon him. So I ask Allah to keep him firm and help him, and to increase in number those like him, because those like him in our time are rare and very few, and the reason for that is shyness or bashfulness, or a person says, “I do not want someone to be fired from their job by my hand,” or something similar, and all of this is from error. Indeed, Allah does not shy away from the truth.
And if he is fired from this job, that is because of his leaving off what is obligatory upon him, so he is the one who brought harm upon himself.
