Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 20035 )
Q2: Is it permissible for me to lead people in prayer when I have memorized the Noble Qur'an but I do not know the rulings?
A2: If there is someone else who knows the Islamic legal rulings and is proficient in the Qur'an, he is more deserving of the imamate than you. If no one else is available, then you lead them in prayer. You must strive to learn the rulings of prayer and the religion in general through the means available to you, so that you may benefit yourself, your family, and your neighbors. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 1037a . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
