Fatwa number ( 15865 )
Q: A man asks and says: I am a Muslim in a remote village, and there are no Muslims in the village except for three Muslim widows. Is it permissible for me to establish the Friday prayer with them in the village ? Please issue a ruling for us, may Allah reward you.
A: It is not permissible to establish the Friday prayer except with what constitutes the congregational prayer, and the minimum for that is two men with the imam, according to the most correct opinion of the scholars. As for women, the Friday prayer is not established with them, but if they pray the Friday prayer with the men, it suffices for them in place of the Dhuhr prayer. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
