Ruling on the Friday prayer if the mosque is in a distant village

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A message was received for the program from Yemen, sent by one of the brothers, Hatham Saif Ghalib from Yemen. He says: We live in a village that has no mosque. Is it obligatory for us to go to a mosque in a village that is two kilometers away to perform the Friday prayer? And is it obligatory for one who finds it difficult to reach the mosque in that village, since the road is mountainous and rugged? And what is the ruling for one who prays it as Zuhr at his home?
Answer: This requires detailed explanation: If the mosque is far away such that they do not hear the call to prayer, as the questioner mentioned, and if they do not hear the call and it is difficult for them to go to the mosque, then it is not obligatory for them to do so. They must pray Zuhr in their location if it is not feasible for them to establish the Friday prayer. If it becomes feasible for them to establish the Friday prayer, they should establish it. They should establish the Friday prayer in their location, in their village, and there is no need for them to go to the other village. If there are three or more, it is obligatory for them, according to the most correct opinion of the scholars, to establish the Friday prayer. It is not a condition for it to be forty, according to the correct view; that is a weak opinion. So if there are three, four, five, or ten in the village, they establish the Friday prayer. One of them preaches to them and prays with them. He preaches with whatever is easy that contains admonition and remembrance for those present, and praise be to Allah. He praises Allah, sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), testifies to the two testimonies, admonishes his brothers, and reminds them of whatever is easy. Then he sits, then stands up and preaches the second sermon, reminding his brothers as he did in the first. Then he prays with them two rak'ahs, reciting aloud in them as is known. It is not obligatory for them to go to the distant mosque, for the two kilometers involve distance and hardship, especially if the land has mountainous ruggedness.
The point is that they establish the Friday prayer in their location, and that is sufficient. However, if it is easy for them to go with their brothers and increase their congregation, and there is no hardship for them, then going with their brothers there and praying with them is better. The more the congregation, and the more the Muslims gather, the better and more excellent it is for them. But it is not obligatory for them, given the situation described. They may establish the Friday prayer in their location and pray in their location, and praise be to Allah.
