The first question of fatwa number ( 17054 )
Q 1: I am a nurse in a hospital, and I am in charge of the reception department. On Fridays, I remain alone with the doctor. Is it obligatory for me to perform the Friday prayer or not? Since the department receives accidents and emergencies 24 hours a day.
A 1: If your work in the hospital requires your presence during the Friday prayer in anticipation of emergencies, there is nothing wrong with your remaining in the hospital, and you are excused from performing the Friday prayer, and you should perform the Zuhr prayer of four rak'ahs. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
