A man fell ill and had sons, and he needed to be hospitalized, so his sons admitted him to the hospital and left a worker with him to attend to his affairs in the hospital.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
His EminenceThe Shaykh : A man fell ill and had two sons who were employees and married, knowing that he had other sons who had independent businesses, and he needed someone to accompany him in the hospital, but none of the sons was able to accompany him.

The Shaykh : Be patient, there are people.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : I mean, you are all listening now, okay, repeat the question.

The questioner : A man fell ill and had two sons who were employees and married, knowing that he had other sons who had independent businesses, and he needed someone to accompany him in the hospital, but none of the sons was able to accompany him, so they hired a worker to be with him to comfort him, and the father is still cursing them. Is their conscience cleared by hiring a worker? And will any of his curse reach them? Please give us a ruling, may Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : Are these people occupied with work that prevents them from coming to their father? If they are excused, meaning they have something that prevents them from being with their father, then they are excused, such as if they are employees; an employee cannot come during work hours. But if they are not excused and nothing would harm them if they came, then they are sinful, and it is feared that their father's curse will reach them, because the compassion of a worker is not like the compassion of a son, and the comfort of their sick father with a worker is not like his comfort with them. So let it be known to them that if there is no religious excuse preventing them from accompanying their father, they must accompany him, otherwise let them fear the punishment.
