The movement of a person between places of prayer: how he prays
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 18452 )
Q 5: If a person is traveling from one place to another and will ride in more than one vehicle, such that more than three obligatory prayers will be missed, what should he do?
A 5: It is obligatory for the accountable Muslim to perform the prayer in its time
as long as his mind is with him, in whatever state he is able to do so. The prayer is not dropped in any case, nor is it delayed from its time except in the case of travel, severe illness, or rain and mud that causes people harm. In such cases, the prayers of Dhuhr and Asr are combined in travel or illness, either by advancing or delaying, whichever is more convenient. One may pray Asr in the time of Dhuhr as a combination by advancing, or if he wishes, delay Dhuhr to the time of Asr as a combination by delaying. He combines Maghrib and Isha in travel, illness, or rain as mentioned. However, in the case of rain, it is combined by advancing, so Isha is prayed in the time of Maghrib. The correct view is that what is mentioned is not considered a delay, but rather it is a time for them that Allah the Exalted prescribed for that situation. Therefore, it is correct to say that it is not permissible to delay the prayer from its time absolutely. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
