Combining the 'Asr Prayer with the Friday Prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. (18586)
Q 1: Allah has blessed me with performing the 'Umrah, and all praise and thanks belong to Allah, but when we wanted to return from the Holy Land, the organizers of the trip asked us to combine the Friday prayer with the 'Asr prayer. A dispute arose among the brothers, some forbade it and some permitted it. What is the correct ruling in this matter? May Allah guide you.
A 1: It is not permissible to combine the 'Asr prayer with the Friday prayer because it is not of the same type as it. The Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his (Fatwas) 2/327, in response to a question: “It is obligatory for you to make up the 'Asr prayer for those days on which you combined 'Asr with Friday; because combining 'Asr with Friday is not valid in any case.” End of quote. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
