Changing the intention of a follower to that of an imam
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 21368 )
Q 6: A man who was a follower missed three rak'ahs of the 'Asr prayer, then another man came and prayed with him, having not yet prayed. Is it valid for him to change his intention from follower to imam? Is this scenario correct?
A 6 : There is no harm in a person who missed the congregational prayer joining someone who is standing to make up what he missed after the imam's taslim, if he does not find anyone else to pray with; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray part of the night, so Ibn 'Abbas came and joined him, in order to obtain the reward of the congregational prayer. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
