Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 18371 )
Q 3: I said the opening takbir and entered the prayer with the intention of the obligatory prayer, then I remembered that I had not prayed the two rak'ahs of the recommended practice. Is it possible for me to intend the voluntary prayer without leaving the prayer? May Allah bless you and reward you with much good.
A 3: It is permissible for one who has entered the obligatory prayer to change it to a voluntary prayer, if this purpose is valid, such as if he is praying alone and a congregation comes and he wants to pray with them, or similar valid purposes, like what
the questioner mentioned of changing from the obligatory prayer to the intention of the regular voluntary prayer preceding it, provided there is ample time. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
