The presence of a partition between the women’s prayer area and the men’s prayer area

Fatwa number ( 18157 )
Q: A mosque was built by a benefactor under my supervision. The construction of the mosque was as follows: 1. The front section of the mosque is fifteen meters long by twenty meters wide (20×15) and is roofed. 2. The open courtyard of the mosque is directly behind the front section, with an area of (20 ×10), and is not roofed. 3. The women’s prayer area is directly behind the courtyard, with an area of (13×5), in addition to a women’s restroom in the corner of the mosque, adjacent to the women’s prayer area. The prayer area has a separate entrance, and all of this is within the mosque’s outer wall. The men’s restroom is outside and separate from the mosque. The issue has become unclear regarding the women’s prayer area: is it permissible for them to pray in it given that there is a partition between their prayer area and the men’s prayer area ? It is known that the partition is the mosque’s courtyard, which is inside its walls. Prayer may be held in the courtyard in the summer, and Friday prayer may be held there when the mosque is full. Likewise, the women’s prayer area may be used for Friday prayer when there are many worshippers. Therefore, we hope for your ruling on this matter, as the mosque is now nearing completion and is in the finishing stage.
A : There is nothing wrong with women praying in the prayer area designated for them, even if a large space separates it from the men’s rows, as long as their prayer area is inside the mosque and they can hear the takbir. This is more modest for them and further from mixing with men. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
