The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 16874 )
Q 4: Is raising the hands for supplication after the adhan considered a religious innovation?
A 4: It is prescribed after the adhan to say, after responding to the mu'adhdhin and sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), what has been transmitted, which is:Sunan an-Nasa'i 680Sahih (Darussalam) ; because this has been established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the hadith of Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with them both) in (Sahih al-Bukhari ) (may Allah have mercy on him), and without raising the hands; because that has not been transmitted in this context, so doing it is considered a religious innovation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
