The first question of Fatwa number ( 21030 )
Q 1: What is the ruling on raising the hands in supplication after the obligatory prayer ? And what are the places where we raise our hands in supplication and asking for our needs from our Lord?
A 1 : The original ruling is that raising the hands in supplication is prescribed, because that is among the causes of acceptance, except in the instances where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated and did not raise his hands, including after the obligatory prayer. Indeed, he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not raise his hands in that instance. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 1718b . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
