Dark and yellow discharge outside the days of the custom is not taken into account

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19413 )
Q2: For years, I have had a disturbance in my menstrual cycle caused by birth control pills. It used to come down strongly from the first day and last for six days, starting to weaken day by day until it ended on the sixth day. However, in recent years, it has become different. Three or four days before the period, I get a slight dark discharge (spots), and on the third or fourth day, and sometimes the fifth, it comes down normally, but it does not last six days as before, only five days. I consulted a doctor, and she told me: These days when the dark discharge occurs before the period are irregular bleeding (istihadah). You must pray and fast during them, and intercourse is permissible for you in them, and the cause of that is a hormone deficiency in the body. I took treatment, but it did not help, and I have not been treated since. Is the Muslim doctor's statement correct or not? I ask you to inform me.
A2: If the dark and yellow discharge is outside the days of the custom, it is not taken into account; due to the statement of Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her):
After we were pure, we did not consider the yellow or muddy discharge to be anythingكنا لا نعد الكدرة والصفرة بعد الطهر شيئًا
Bulugh al-Maram 143
. As for what is of it within the days of the custom, it is considered menstruation.
And thus it becomes clear to you the correctness of what the doctor told you. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
