Discharge of dark or yellow fluid without blood due to taking pills, and the ruling on fasting in that case
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 19714 )
Q: I took pills to prevent my monthly period during Ramadan in the year 1417 AH. However, I noticed that after about ten days, I began to experience a discharge of dark and yellow fluid. Its color was sometimes light brown, sometimes yellow, and sometimes closer to black. Nevertheless, I continued to fast because no blood came out until the night of the festival. Is my fasting on these days valid ? If it is not valid, what must I do, given that I do not know the number of days? I tried to count them but failed. Do I owe an expiation? Please issue a ruling, may Allah reward you. May Allah make your knowledge beneficial.
A: If this dark and yellow fluid that comes out of you is outside the days of your usual period, it is not considered menstruation, and it does not prevent prayer or fasting. This is based on the statement of Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Bulugh al-Maram 143 . However, if this dark and yellow fluid coincides with the days of your usual period, it is considered menstruation, based on the implication of the statement of Umm Atiyyah that we mentioned. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

After we were pure, we did not consider the yellow or muddy discharge to be anything
