A reward is paid to the top performer in some courses, and one of the trainees achieved top marks through cheating

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: I am an employee in a government department. I completed a four-month course in my field of work. The course regulations state that whoever ranks in the top three receives a full salary due to their excellence. At the end of the course, I received help from the teachers in some subjects during the exams, and there was also help among the students in the classroom. Please note that the help from the teachers was for all the students. There was very intense competition among us students over who would achieve excellence. As a result, I achieved excellence, and a full salary was issued to me, which I have received. However, I have not spent it, and it is currently in my possession. Your Eminence, how do I dispose of this salary? Please advise me, may you be rewarded, about this reward and what I should do with it?
A: It is not permissible for you to take this reward, because your excellence did not result from your own ability, but rather from the cheating that came from the instructors and from the students helping one another. The state established this reward to motivate the students
and to encourage them to fully master the subjects they are studying. This purpose was not achieved in the case you asked about. Calling what the instructors did, or what the students did among themselves, "help" is an incorrect designation, because help is only what is prescribed, not what is not prescribed. You must return the reward to the entity that paid it to you.
