Reasons for a student’s lack of academic excellence despite his effort

Question:
In his second question, he says: I am a high school student and I am diligent, praise be to Allah, but I do not achieve a very good grade or anything below that. Nevertheless, I maintain the five daily prayers in congregation at the mosque and I call upon Allah to grant me success and to realize what I aspire to, which is to achieve a high grade. However, my level has not changed. Does Allah have a wisdom in making me not one of the top achievers? And yet, I find young men who are less diligent than I am in maintaining their prayers—may Allah guide them—who are better than me in academic achievement and achieve excellent grades. What do you advise me to do? May Allah reward you.

Answer:
Your Lord is Wise and Knowing in everything. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-An'am: 83]. Allah, Glorious and Exalted, said: [An-Nisa: 17] . So He possesses perfect wisdom and complete knowledge, and He knows best the reasons why you have not reached the highest grade. Perhaps the reasons are your weak understanding, or there are other reasons such as arrogance or pride over others, or something similar. So fear Allah, hold yourself to account, be humble, ask your Lord for success, strive, and be glad of good if Allah wills. Do not accuse your Lord. You must have a good opinion of Allah , and know that He is Wise and Knowing, placing things in their proper places, and He is not unjust to His servants . Rather, the misfortune came from you, either due to your weak understanding, or due to things you do such as pride or arrogance, or other things that cause your deficiency and your decline. Yes.
