The debt remains in the estate of the deceased until his creditor forgives it or it is paid on his behalf

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 18230 )
Q 2: The father passed away and he had some debts. Some of the creditors forgave him, and I paid some of them. For the one who still has a claim, I told him: “Forgive the father, and it will be on my guarantee.” Is that permissible? What is the ruling?
A 2: The debt remains in the estate of the deceased until his creditor forgives it or it is paid on his behalf, and it does not transfer from his estate to the estate of another. So strive, may Allah guide you, to pay it off so that the deceased may be relieved of it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
