Mixing the disinfectant Javel in water: Does it render the water impure?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 16228 )
Q: Is wudu' valid with water mixed with (Javel) , which kills germs, and if no other water is available, what is the ruling in Islam regarding this?
A: If the substance mentioned that was mixed with the water is not impure and has not changed the name of the water to another name, then it does not deprive it of its purifying quality—so wudu' is permissible with it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
