The ruling on water if it is changed by something that is not impure
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If water is changed by something that affects its taste, color, or smell, other than impurities, such as egg or the like, what is the ruling?
Answer:
If water is changed by impurities, it becomes impure by consensus. However, if it is changed by other pure things, such as egg, the effect of tanning on skins, or what falls into water like weeds and dirt, it does not become impure thereby, nor does it lose its purity. Rather, it remains in its state, pure and purifying, as long as the name "water" remains applicable to it. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-Nisa: 43], and His saying: [Al-Furqan: 48], and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan Abi Dawud 67Sahih (Al-Albani).
However, if it goes beyond the name of water and becomes milk, broth, egg, or something similar, then in this case, the rulings of absolute water cease to apply to it, and it is not permissible to perform purification with it. This is because it does not fall under the name of water mentioned in the aforementioned texts and others. This is what the scholars have stated, and Allah knows best. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon His servant and messenger Muhammad, his family, and his companions.

and find no water, then seek clean earth
فَلَمْ تَجِدُوا مَاءً فَتَيَمَّمُواand We send down from the sky pure water
وَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً طَهُورًاVerily water is pure and is not defiled by anything.
