Incense in Mosques and Their Perfuming

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 18580 )
Q: What is the ruling in Islam regarding incense, and what is the ruling on placing it in mosques for the purpose of perfuming them?
A: Incensing and perfuming mosques is a good practice; because this is part of their cleanliness. The noble Tabi'i Nu'aym al-Mujmir (may Allah have mercy on him) was one of the narrators from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he was called al-Mujmir because he would incense the mosque of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
