Praise be to Allah alone, and may peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. And after: The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has reviewed what was sent to His Eminence the Grand Mufti from His Excellency: The Judge of the al-Bukayriyah Court, Dr. Abdullah ibn Ali al-Dakhil , No. (747) and dated
8/5/1419 AH, and referred to the Permanent Committee by the General Secretariat of the Committee of Senior Scholars with number (2998) and date 11/5/1419 AH, concerning the review of the request submitted by the Mayor of al-Bukayriyah Municipality, regarding the possibility of utilizing the land of the mosque located inside the municipal building after its demolition , given that the municipality no longer needs it, that it is exclusive to the municipality, and that no prayers are currently held in it. The Permanent Committee has studied the case and reviewed the attached report prepared by the committee formed to examine the aforementioned mosque, which included: the representative of the al-Bukayriyah Court: 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Muhammad al-Lahaydan , the representative of the Endowments Department: 'Abd Allah al-Muhammad al-Lahaydan , the representative of the Commission for Promoting Virtue and Prohibiting Vice: Hamd ibn Sulayman al-Rajhi , and the representative of the al-Bukayriyah Municipality: 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Salih al-Lahaydan . The report stated the following: Based on the letter from the Honorable Judge of the al-Bukayriyah Court, number (1/467) and date 13/3/1419 AH, which was based on the letter from His Eminence the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, and Chairman of the Committee of Senior Scholars and the Department of Islamic Research and Ifta, number (1345/2) and date 4/3/1419 AH, regarding the formation of a committee from the Shari'ah Court, the Endowments Department, and the Commission for Promoting Virtue and Prohibiting Vice, and
the Municipality to inspect the aforementioned mosque, the following became clear: 1- The mosque is exclusive to the municipality employees and is inside the building. 2- It has no doors opening onto the street. 3- No prayers are held in it other than the midday prayer only, until the construction of the adjacent al-Hadithi Mosque . 4- No prayers have been held in the mosque for approximately one and a half years since the construction of the adjacent mosque. 5- The adjacent mosque is less than forty meters away from it.
