The first question of Fatwa No. ( 20022 )
Q 1. Some workers on printing devices write (the Basmala) in the shape of (the form of) an ostrich or other shapes. What is the ruling on this, along with guidance and advice? May Allah reward you with good.
A 1: This mentioned act, which is writing the Basmala or other prescribed dhikr in the shape of an ostrich or other animals, is a reprehensible act and it diminishes the majesty of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). Therefore, it is not permissible to approve of it or remain silent about it for several reasons: First: It involves depicting beings with souls, and that is forbidden. Second: It is an insult to the names and attributes of Allah and a degradation of them. Third: It is playing with or belittling a verse from the Book of Allah the Exalted, which is Bism
Allah al-Rahman al-Rahim. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
