Q: Attached to this submission are stories circulating in the markets
and bookstores. After reviewing them, it was found that they contain Qur'anic verses placed on the tongues of animals and insects , which constitutes deliberate distortion of the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, as will be clear from the images of these stories. Therefore, I request clarification of the Shari'ah ruling on such stories and the condemnation of those who distribute them. The two stories titled "The Invasion of Germs" and "The Migration of Sparrows" were referred to the Printing and Translation Department of the Presidency for review. They were returned with letter No. 871/11 dated 5/8/1413 AH, the text of which is as follows: The two mentioned stories have been reviewed, and the following was clarified: The two mentioned stories are from a series specifically designed for children between the ages of seven and twelve, dealing with natural life sciences, and their rights are reserved for the company "Middle Fant," headquartered in Switzerland . Although the two mentioned stories contain good information for children, it was noted that the germs and birds speak with the noble verses of the Qur'an. This is considered a desecration of the Great Qur'an. It also fosters in the hearts of children the permissibility of playing with the words of the Qur'an in casual conversations. It also develops imaginary ideas among the youth by making them assume the possibility of those creatures speaking. Since the publishing company is foreign, the possibility that they intended the deliberate distortion of the Noble Book of Allah is plausible.
A: After the Committee studied the information provided above regarding the two mentioned stories, one titled "The Migration of Sparrows" and the other titled "The Invasion of Germs," and examined them in the stories themselves, it was found that among their chapters is the speaking of non-rational animals, such as germs and birds, with the noble verses of the Qur'an. In this lies lying, desecration, and debasement of the speech of Allah, the Exalted, and boldness against His sanctity, and emboldening the youth against His sanctities, and introducing doubts into their hearts, among other things that are not hidden. Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, revealed the Great Qur'an in a clear Arabic language to His Noble Prophet to guide the two heavy burdens, humans and jinn, and to worship Him by following it, reciting it, and listening to it, and no one else from His creation. Therefore, this act, whether recorded, written, sold, bought, or circulated, is a great abomination that is not permissible. It is obligatory for the rulers of the Muslims to prohibit it, in order to protect the Book of Allah from desecration and to safeguard the beliefs of the Muslims from what defiles them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
