Death in accidents: Does it contradict what is in the Preserved Tablet?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 17882 )
Q 4: If a person is killed or dies in an accident that befalls him, it is not divine decree. Or he gave an example and said: If we assume that a person’s lifespan is written with Allah the Mighty and Majestic as 70 years, and he is struck by an accident and dies as a result at the age of 30, then this is not considered divine decree, but rather a violation of the appointed term. He said: If it were considered divine decree, people would not say that the blood money for a person killed by mistake is due, or that the hudud punishment is established for a deliberate killer. He said: Otherwise, I would go to kill so-and-so, and if
they asked me about the reason for my killing him, I would tell them: It is divine decree, and even to spare him the pangs of death.
A 4: It is obligatory for the Muslim to believe in divine decree and destiny, and that what Allah willed happened and what He did not will did not happen, and that all things were created by Allah, and He knew them, wrote them, and willed them. The lifespan of a person passes through stages: First: what is written in the Preserved Tablet. Second: what occurs in the stage of the blowing of the soul, which is pregnancy. Third: what occurs on the Night of Decree, which corresponds to what is in the Preserved Tablet. The teacher’s statement that a person’s death by accident is a violation of the appointed term is incorrect. The killing of a person, whether by mistake or deliberately, does not negate that it is decreed. Rather, Allah, Glorious is His Majesty, is the One who decreed all things, including killing and other matters. The one who was killed died by his appointed term, as Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Hadid 57:22] , and He the Exalted said: [Al-Qamar 54:49] , and He the Exalted said: [Al-Hajj 22:70]
And in (the two Sahihs) it is narrated fromIbn Mas'ud(may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:, and in (SahihMuslim) it is narrated from'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As(may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:. The verses and hadiths affirming divine decree are very numerous, and the people of the Sunnah and the community have reached scholarly consensus on their meaning, and only the Mu'tazilahthe Mu'tazilah, among whom arethe Rafidahmay Allah deal with them as they deserve. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being
Indeed, all things We created with predestination.
Do you not know that Allah knows what is in the heaven and earth? Indeed, that is in a Record. Indeed that, for Allah, is easy.
And in (the two Sahihs) it is narrated fromIbn Mas'ud(may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
The fetus is written its provision, its lifespan, its deeds, and whether it is wretched or happy in the womb of its mother
Indeed, Allah decreed the destinies of the creatures fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth, and His Throne is over the water.
