The first question of Fatwa number ( 13964 )
Q 1: Do we or any imams have the right to support their statements with the words and deeds of the Messenger of Allah?
A 1: Allah the Exalted commanded us to worship Him alone, to be sincere in religion for Him, and not to worship, call upon, or hope for anyone other than Him (Glorified and Exalted is He). He sent
Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to clarify the laws of the religion, and He (Mighty and Majestic) commanded us to take what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) brought, to obey his command, and to avoid what he prohibited. He said:[Al-Hashr 59:7] He is our model and example in his words, deeds, and approvals. He said: [Al-Ahzab 33:21] It is obligatory for Muslims to purify their following of the noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so that no one’s statement stands alongside the statement of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.
There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.
