Denial of the Night Journey

The first question of fatwa number ( 19048 )
Q 1: I read in (Fatwas of the Shaykh al-Islam) (may Allah have mercy on him) that whoever denies
a single letter of the Book of Allah has committed disbelief, and he is given three days to repent, and if he does not repent, he is killed. So what about a man who has denied the event of the Night Journey and the Ascension , and has boasted before people by saying: This is absolutely impossible, especially when the truth says:[At-Tawbah 9:65] ?
Vol. 1: The hadith of the Night Journey and the Ascension is established by the Book and the Sunnah. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Isra 17:1], and authentic hadiths have been transmitted in a mass-transmitted manner from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he was taken by his spirit and his body, while awake and not in sleep. The evidence for this and the signs of its truth have become apparent to such an extent that they leave no room for doubt. Therefore, the Muslims of the people of the Sunnah and the community have agreed upon believing in it and affirming what has been reported about it, while the Zindiqs and the atheists turned away from it, and the disbelievers of Quraysh denied it out of stubbornness and defiance. Allah the Exalted said: [As-Saf 61:8]. Whoever denies the Night Journey and the Ascension has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and lied to him.
[Al-Isra 17:1], and His saying, the Sublime: [An-Najm 53:13-15]. If one who denies a verse, a word, or a letter from the Book of Allah disbelieves in Allah, then the one who denies the story of the Night Journey and the Ascension is a disbeliever all the more so. And because denying the Night Journey and the Ascension also necessitates denying the obligation of the five daily prayers and not believing in them, and that is disbelief that expels one from the religion. This is because the prayer was made obligatory upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Ummah when he was taken by night and ascended, and Jibril ascended with him above the seventh heaven to what no one knows except Allah (Mighty and Majestic). It was made obligatory upon the Ummah of Muhammad directly from the Lord of the Worlds without any intermediary, as came in the story of the Night Journey and the Ascension, and authentic hadiths have been transmitted in a mass-transmitted manner regarding it. So whoever denies that, there is no doubt in his disbelief, a disbelief that expels one from the religion, and we seek refuge in Allah. Allah the Exalted said:
[Al-Baqarah 2:85]. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

Vol. 1: The hadith of the Night Journey and the Ascension is established by the Book and the Sunnah. Allah the Exalted said:
Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa
They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.
Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed
(13) And he certainly saw him in another descent (14) At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary - (15) Near it is the Garden of Refuge -
So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly life; and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the severest of punishment
