Discussion of the Night Journey and the Ascension

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Among the transmitted proofs of the Exaltedness of Allah is the ascension of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to Allah, for it is established, and ascension is from below to above. The Night Journey and the Ascension are established in the Qur'an. The Night Journey is established by the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa سبحان الذي أسرى بعبده ليلاً من المسجد الحرام إلى المسجد الأقصى
[Al-Isra 17:1]
and the Ascension is established by the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(1) By the star when it descends, (2) Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, والنجم إذا هوى ما ضل صاحبُكم وما غوى
[An-Najm 53:1-2]
to the end of the verses. Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) says:
"And the hadith of the Messenger's Ascension is established *** and it is explicit with the utmost clarity"
The student: We did not recite it yesterday

The Shaykh : Ah?
The student: I did not read it

The Shaykh : We did not read it, we did not hear it. Well, that is good, so let us hear it now.
