Q: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. After that: The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has reviewed what was sent to His Eminence the Grand Mufti from the questioner Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-Luhaydan, Director of the Dawah and Guidance Office in Dammam, and referred to the Committee by the General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars, with number (95\ S) and date 2\ 11\ 1421 AH. The questioner asked a question, the text of which is as follows: I submit to Your Eminence what has reached me and is currently circulating, especially in some girls' schools and educational guidance offices among us. It is a paper on a topic attributed to the Madinah newspaper, in which the one who attributed it to himself claims that he discovered: that the beautiful names of Allah have a great healing power for a huge number of diseases. - That each name among the beautiful names of Allah has a power that stimulates the immune system to work with optimal efficiency in a specific organ of the human body. - He mentions as an example of its success on his son by repeating certain names for ten minutes, and with a large number of volunteers.
- That the same names of majesty that treat can also be used for prevention. - That the healing power is multiplied when reciting the verses of healing after the tasbih with the beautiful names of Allah. - The publisher asks people to experiment and provide feedback. Therefore, we would like from Your Eminity, may Allah preserve you, to clarify the matter and make it clear to people; so that they may be guided by the command of their Lord.
A: After the Committee studied the inquiry, it answered as follows: Allah the Exalted said:[Al-A'raf 7:180] , and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3508Sahih (Darussalam) , including the Greatest Name, by which, if He is called, He responds, and by which, if He is asked, He gives. So the names of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) are known in number only to Him, and they are all beautiful. It is obligatory to affirm them and to affirm what they indicate of the perfection, majesty, and greatness of Allah. It is forbidden to distort them by denying them, or denying any of them from Allah, or denying what they indicate of perfection and majesty, or denying what
It contains of the great attributes of Allah, and of the deviation in the names of Allah what the one called Sayyid Karim and his student and son claimed in the paper they distribute to people, namely that the beautiful names of Allah have a healing power for a huge number of diseases, and that by means of various precise methods of measuring energy within the human body, it was discovered that each of the beautiful names of Allah has an energy that stimulates the immune system to work with optimal efficiency in a specific organ of the human body, and that Dr. Ibrahim Karim was able, by applying the law of resonance, to discover that merely mentioning one of the beautiful names of Allah leads to an improvement in the pathways of vital energy in the human body. He said: It is known that the Pharaohs were the first to study and establish measurements for the pathways of vital energy in the human body using the Pharaonic pendulum. Then he mentioned a list of the names of Allah in a table, and claimed that each of them has a benefit for the body or treats a type of bodily disease, and he clarified this with a drawing of the human body, placing a name of Allah on each of its organs. This work is invalid; because it is a deviation in the names of Allah, and it involves demeaning them; because what is prescribed regarding the names of Allah is to supplicate to Him with them, as He the Exalted said: , and to affirm the great attributes of Allah that they contain; because each of them contains an attribute of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and it is not permissible to use them for anything other than
supplicating with them except with evidence from the Shari'ah, and the claim that they benefit such and such or treat such and such without evidence from the Shari'ah is speaking about Allah without knowledge. And Allah the Exalted said:[Al-A'raf 7:33] , so it is obligatory to destroy this paper. And it is obligatory for the mentioned individuals to repent to Allah from this work, and not to return to any of it that relates to creed and legal rulings. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.
