Detailing the Names of Allah the Exalted for the Common People

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 17324 )
Q 3: Regarding the Names and Attributes of Allah the Exalted, is it permissible to detail them for the common people , or should they be asked to believe in them in general, such that we tell them: "We believe in the Names and Attributes of Allah without likening Him to creation, denying His attributes, or asking how an attribute is"? And what is the meaning of the statement of 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "Inform the people of what they know; do you wish for Allah and His Messenger to be lied about?"
A 3: The Names and Attributes of Allah the Exalted must be explained to people and taught to them; because they are clarified in the Book and the Sunnah, along with the obligation to believe in them and affirm
their meanings for Allah in the manner befitting His Majesty (Glorified and Exalted is He), without distortion, asking how an attribute is, comparing Allah to creation, or denial of the divine attributes; due to the statement of Allah the Exalted:
(1) Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, (2) Allah, the Eternal Refuge. (3) He neither begets nor is born, (4) Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1-4]
, and His statement (Mighty and Majestic):
There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
[Ash-Shuraa 42:11]
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
