The repetition of the name al-Latif 129 times

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 17118 )
Q: In some mosques here in the state of Bishar , the name of Allah the Most Beautiful, namely the name (al-Latif), is recited every Friday, and that is after the Friday lesson ends, i.e., before the Friday adhan and the two khutbahs, 129 times. I asked the imam, and he said to me: May Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, lift His anger from us. So what is your opinion and clarification of this matter?
A: Repeating the recitation of the name of Allah the Exalted (al-Latif) 129 times before the Friday adhan is not from the way of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), nor from the way of his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), nor from the way of the Salaf of this Ummah. Rather, that is from the religious innovations introduced into the religion. It is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who innovates things in our affairs for which there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected.من أحدث في أمرنا هذا ما ليس منه فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718a
meaning: it is returned to its owner. As for gathering in a circle for the lesson before the Friday adhan and the two khutbahs, it is prohibited; for what was narrated by al-Nasa'i from the hadith of 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb from his father from his grandfather
It was narrated from ʼUmar bin al-Khattab that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade 'azl (coitus interruptus) with a free woman, except with her permission.أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن التحلق يوم الجمعة قبل الصلاة
Musnad Ahmad 212[Da'of (Darussalam)
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
