Repeating Hajj
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 6909 )
Q1: Is it recommended to perform Hajj every year for one who desires it and it does not burden him, or is it better to do it once every three years or once every two years?
A1: Allah has made Hajj obligatory for every capable adult once in a lifetime, and anything beyond that is voluntary and a means of drawing near to Allah. No specific number has been established in the texts for voluntary Hajj; rather, its repetition depends on the financial and health condition of the person, the state of his relatives and the poor around him, the differing interests of the general Muslim community and his support for them with his person and wealth, and his status in the community and his benefit to it whether present or traveling, in Hajj and otherwise. So let each person look at his circumstances and what is most beneficial for him and the community, and prioritize that over other things. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
