Reminding the one who sneezes if he did not praise Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa number ( 20455 )
Q 2: If a person sneezes and does not say: (Alhamdulillah), do I have the right to remind him , and if I sneeze while I am praying, do I say Alhamdulillah or not?
A 2 : The response to the sneezer is only prescribed for the one who sneezes and praises Allah, as for the one who does not praise Allah, it is not prescribed to respond to him, nor to remind him to praise Allah; because it is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
That two men sneezed in his presence, so he responded to one of them and did not respond to the other, so the man said: O Messenger of Allah, you responded to this one and did not respond to me, he said: This one praised Allah and you did not praise Allahأنه عطس عنده رجلان، فشـمت أحدهما ولم يشمت الآخر، فقال الرجل: يا رسول الله: شمت هذا ولم تشمتني، قال: إن هذا حمد الله وأنت لم تحمد الله
, so if reminding the sneezer were prescribed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would have reminded this man to praise Allah. And the one who sneezes while in prayer, it is prescribed for him to praise Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), whether the prayer is obligatory or voluntary, and this is what the majority of scholars from the Companions and the Tabi'un said, and it was said by Imam Malik and al-Shafi'i and Ahmad , with disagreement among them: whether to say it quietly or loudly, and the correct of the scholars' opinions and the madhhab of Imam Ahmad is that he says it loudly, but only to the extent that he hears himself; so as not to disturb the worshippers, and this is indicated by the generality of what Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If anyone of you sneezes, let him say: Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah).إذا عطس أحدكم فليقل: الحمد لله
Sunan Ibn Majah 3715Da'if (Darussalam)
.. The hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari, and this is also supported by
what Rifa'ah ibn Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, he said:
I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so I sneezed and I said: Alhamdulillah, much praise, good and blessed in it, blessed upon it as our Lord loves and is pleased with, so when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished his prayer and turned away, he said: Who was the one who spoke in the prayer? So no one spoke, then he said it the second time: Who was the one who spoke in the prayer? So no one spoke, then he said it the third time: Who was the one who spoke in the prayer? So Rifa'ah ibn Rafi' said: I am, O Messenger of Allah, he said: What did you say? He said: I said: (Alhamdulillah, much praise, good and blessed in it, blessed upon it as our Lord loves and is pleased with), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in whose hand is my soul, thirty angels competed to carry it upصليت خلف رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فعطست فقلت: الحمد لله حمدًا كثيرًا طيبًا مباركًا فيه، مباركًا عليه كما يحب ربنا ويرضى) فلما صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وانصرف قـال: من المتكلم في الصلاة؟
It was narrated by al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud and al-Nasa'i , and al-Tirmidhi said: A good hadith, and what the Hafiz transmitted in (al-Tahdhib) from al-Tirmidhi is that he graded it authentic, and it was narrated by al-Bukhari in his Sahih, except that he did not mention that he said it after he sneezed, but rather he said it after rising from the bowing, so it is understood that his sneeze occurred when he rose from the bowing, so he said it because of his sneeze, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) approved him for that and did not disapprove of it, so that indicates its permissibility in prayer, but the one who sneezes in prayer and then praises Allah, it is not permissible for the one who hears him to respond to him; because the response is from the speech of people, so it
is not permissible in prayer, and it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he disapproved of the one who responded to the sneezer in prayer, then he said to him:
No talk to people in lawful in this prayer, for it consists only in glorifying Allah, declaring His greatness, and reciting the Qur'anإن هذه الصلاة لا يحل فيها شيء من كلام الناس هذا، إنما هو التسبيح والتكبير وقراءة القرآن
Sunan Abi Dawud 930Sahih (Al-Albani)
It was narrated by Imam Muslim and Abu Dawud and al-Nasa'i . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
