What is attributed to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding his statement: “If Allah were to reveal Himself to me, it would not increase my faith in any way”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The eighth question of Fatwa number ( 18672 )
Q 8: Is this statement established from Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him): “If Allah were to reveal Himself to me, it would not increase my faith in any way.”
A 8 : This statement is not established from Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him)
as far as we know; because it is self-praise, and he (may Allah be pleased with him) did not praise himself. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
