Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa number ( 19623 )
Q 2: This question revolves around the hadith narrated by al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud when Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) gave all his wealth to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) during the expedition to Tabuk , and that he (peace and blessings be upon him) answered him: "What have you left for your family?" He said to him: "I have left for them Allah and His Messenger."
The addition in the hadith is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Bakr , indeed Allah is pleased with you. Are you pleased with Him?" He said to him—and he was stirred by joy and awe, and stood dancing before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)—: "How could I not be pleased with Allah?" The question is: Is this addition authentic, and did Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) stand dancing before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?

A 2: As for the hadith narrated by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi , it is authentic, and it was also narrated by al-Hakim in (al-Mustadrak) and he graded it as authentic, and al-Dhahabi agreed with him. As for the addition mentioned, we do not know of any basis for it, and its text is denounced. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
