Writing the Noble Qur'an in Disconnected Letters

The first question of Fatwa No. ( 17648 )
Q 1: Is it permissible to write the Noble Qur'an in disconnected letters, carry it to a sick person, dissolve it in water, and drink the water .
A 1 : There is no harm in writing the Qur'an in clear script on a pure object and then erasing it with water to be given to a sick person to drink; for this was the practice of some of the Salaf, and it is a form of seeking healing through the Qur'an. As for writing it in disjointed letters, that is not permissible; for this is playing with the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and a defective belief. Likewise, making
the Qur'an or part of it an amulet, meaning a charm hung on the sick person, is not permissible, for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited that and said:Sunan al-Bayhaqi 17:557 In another narration: . There is no difference between an amulet made from the Qur'an or from other things in the most correct of the scholars' opinions; due to the generality of the hadiths, and to block the means to harm; for hanging amulets from the Qur'an leads to hanging them from other things. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
