Calling the Muslim who drinks intoxicants a disbeliever
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 10618 )
Q1: Is it permissible for a Muslim to call a Muslim who drinks intoxicants a disbeliever?
A1: Drinking intoxicants, committing unlawful sexual intercourse, and withholding zakah are among the major sins that are not forgiven except by repentance to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). The position of the people of the Sunnah and the community is that one who commits any of the major sins is a believer in his faith but an open sinner in his major sin, and it is not permissible to call one who commits any of the major sins a disbeliever if he does not consider it permissible.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
