The oaths one is unable to count: how to expiate them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 9843 )
Q 1: I am a young man who constantly swears oaths and does not fulfill them, nor do I expiate
for them. This state has continued for years, and the expiations have accumulated upon me. I have forgotten some of them and I remember others. Every time I repent, I return to this habit. Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good, what should I do with the ones I have forgotten and the ones I still remember?

A 1: The oaths one is unable to count: how to expiate them. If you swore and broke them while you remember them, it is obligatory for you to expiate for them. For each oath, the expiation is feeding ten poor people, or clothing them, or freeing a believing slave. If you do not find the means to do so, then fast for three days. This applies if the oaths were regarding multiple matters. If they were regarding a single matter, then there is only one expiation after breaking all of them. As for the oaths you swore and broke while you did not remember them, it is obligatory for you to strive to know and count them, and then expiate for them, as mentioned regarding the first oaths. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
