Q3: I used to play football with one of the brothers, and I suffered a fracture in my leg. When it broke, I swore by Allah that I would not play football after I recovered . I swore in one place, and afterwards I do not know if I swore in another place or if it was only the first place. If I swore in many places, what is the ruling? My problem is that the professor says: you must play football and take the test, and if I do not take the test, my grades will be reduced. Please inform me of the expiation for what I swore, in order, and how the expiation for an oath is performed. I want the verse and the name of the surah in which the expiation for an oath is mentioned, and if there is an authentic hadith on that? After the expiation, do I play or do I leave football? A3: If you broke your oath or you intend to break it, it is obligatory for you to pay one expiation, even if the oath is repeated, as long as the matter sworn upon is one; for Allah the Exalted said in Surat al-Ma'idah:[Al-Ma'idah 5:89] the verse. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

Allah will not impose blame upon you for what is meaningless in your oaths, but He will impose blame upon you for [breaking] what you intended of oaths. So its expiation is the feeding of ten needy people from the average of that which you feed your [own] families or clothing them or the freeing of a slave. But whoever cannot find [or afford it] - then a fast of three days [is required]. That is the expiation for oaths when you have sworn. But guard your oaths. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be grateful.
لاَ يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اللَّهُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِي أَيْمَانِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ يُؤَاخِذُكُمْ بِمَا عَقَّدْتُمُ الأَيْمَانَ فَكَفَّارَتُهُ إِطْعَامُ عَشَرَةِ مَسَاكِينَ مِنْ أَوْسَطِ مَا تُطْعِمُونَ أَهْلِيكُمْ أَوْ كِسْوَتُهُمْ أَوْ تَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ذَلِكَ كَفَّارَةُ أَيْمَانِكُمْ إِذَا حَلَفْتُمْ وَاحْفَظُوا أَيْمَانَكُمْ كَذَلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ آيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
