Wearing the silver ring for men
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 4644 )
Q: What is the ruling on wearing a silver ring , and is it forbidden? Is it required that there be a necessity for wearing it, such as using it as a seal, for example? Also, what is the ruling on wearing a silver ring known in modern terminology as the "wedding ring," and is it imitating the disbelievers? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with all good.
A: First: It is permissible for men to wear a silver ring, whether out of necessity or not, based on the evidence found in the pure Sunnah. Second: What is called wearing a wedding ring, whether of gold or silver, has no basis in Islam. Rather, it is a religious innovation in which ignorant Muslims and those weak in religion have imitated the disbelievers in their customs. This is prohibited because it involves imitating the disbelievers, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) warned against it.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
