Q: Is working in the field of repairing radios, recorders, and televisions lawful or forbidden, and is the one who does the repair accountable before Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) for the programs broadcast on these devices? Knowing that much of these programs are forbidden to watch, but some are very good.
A: Some of what is broadcast through these devices is forbidden, and some is lawful, and likewise what is watched on some of them. However, their use in what is forbidden is the predominant reality, as is the observed situation. Therefore, the Muslim should avoid working in their repair and manufacture; because the evil in them predominates over the good.
