What is the ruling on opening a shop to repair televisions, video players, and satellite dishes?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you with good. This brother intends to open a shop to repair televisions, video players, and satellite dishes. He asks: Is this permissible? And is there any advice for heads of households and Muslim youth regarding this matter?

The Shaykh : I advise him to open a shop to repair things that are beneficial. As for things that have both benefit and harm, where one does not know whether the person bringing them in will use them for what is harmful or what is beneficial, let him leave this profession. And praise be to Allah, he is now able to open a shop to repair electrical wiring, installation, and bringing in light bulbs and the like, without repairing these items. Perhaps a person might come to repair his television in order to attract satellite dishes and the like. So let him turn away from this. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
