Q1: Is listening to cassette tapes forbidden or permissible?
A1 : If what is recorded on them is forbidden, such as obscene songs, music, false stories, or speech that incites art and evil, and the like, then listening to them is forbidden. If what is recorded on them is prescribed or permissible, such as the Qur'an, correct Islamic lectures, and political or commercial bulletins that contain no deception or incitement of fitnah, then listening to them is permissible. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
