The Difficulty of Fulfilling a Vow

Fatwa No. ( 6294 )
Q: A few days passed for me about five years ago, and I was
aspiring to a specific goal, and I made a vow to Allah the Exalted that if I achieved that goal, I would slaughter a camel for Allah the Exalted. I uttered this at the time, perhaps because I was in dire need of achieving that goal, and perhaps due to the intensity of that need, I did not consider the cost of fulfilling it. Now, praise be to Allah, I have reached the desired goal some time ago, and I am confused about the vow I uttered. Is it obligatory for me to fulfill what I uttered, or is there a dispensation to do what your eminence advises, which would be sufficient for what I uttered? Please inform me, may Allah reward you.
A: If the situation is as you described, it is obligatory for you to fulfill what you vowed; because of His saying, the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:270] And He said regarding the attributes of the righteous: , and because of what is established from the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih al-Bukhari 6696 . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

A: If the situation is as you described, it is obligatory for you to fulfill what you vowed; because of His saying, the Exalted:
And whatever you spend of expenditures or make of vows - indeed, Allah knows of it
وَمَا أَنْفَقْتُمْ مِنْ نَفَقَةٍ أَوْ نَذَرْتُمْ مِنْ نَذْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُهُThey fulfill their vows
يُوفُونَ بِالنَّذْرِWhoever vows that he will be obedient to Allah, should remain obedient to Him
من نذر أن يطيع الله فليطعه
