Question:
Our sister says: I vowed to myself to fast ten days in Rajab and ten days in Sha'ban. I fasted them last year, but one of my relatives told me that there is no reward in fasting on these days. Is this statement correct? I also fast on Ashura and the Day of Standing at 'Arafah, and I love fasting very much. Please guide us, may Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih al-Bukhari 6696 A vow of fasting is an act of obedience, so you must fulfill your vow and fast ten days of Rajab and ten days of Sha'ban if you vowed to do this permanently every year. You must also abandon making vows; making vows is not recommended and is disliked. Therefore, you should refrain from making vows in the future, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Mishkat al-Masabih 3426.
So in the future, refrain from making vows, but what has already occurred from you and been completed, you must fulfill it, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih al-Bukhari 6696.
Allah has praised those who fulfill their vows. He (Glorified and Exalted is He) has praised those who fulfill their vows in His great Book, where He said: in Surat al-Insan: [al-Insan:7] These are among the characteristics of the righteous and among the characteristics of the believers: [al-Insan:7] So you must fulfill your vow and refrain from making vows in the future. Yes.

Answer:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever vows that he will be obedient to Allah, should remain obedient to Him; and whoever made a vow that he will disobey Allah, should not disobey Him.
من نذر أن يطيع الله فليطعه، ومن نذر أن يعصيه فلا يعصهDo not make vows, for a vow has no effect against fate; it is only from the miserly that it is a means by which something is extracted.
لا تنذروا؛ فإن النذر لا يرد من قدر الله شيئًا، وإنما يستخرج به من البخيلSo in the future, refrain from making vows, but what has already occurred from you and been completed, you must fulfill it, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
